I just felt it very strongly impressed upon me that I needed to blog about trust. Here it is.
Trust is a beautiful thing. It’s scary, it’s hard, but it’s necessary for life. You don’t really begin a relationship with someone unless you trust them. It’s impossible without trust. It’s at the very center of us, this need to trust others, to trust ourselves, to trust God.
God wants me to tell you that you can trust Him.
“Tell them that I am completely trustworthy, Jess,” He says. “I love them with my heart wide open. I hold nothing back. I have them in the palm of my hands. They feel like they have to hold on to the world and grasp onto what they can see, but their strength is in trusting me. I am FOR them. I will never leave them or forsake them. They are mine and I am theirs. Please tell them how much I love them! I love them with an everlasting, undying, fathomless love. You can’t grasp it, and you can’t see it, but it’s there and always will be.”
Wow, God told me that for YOU!!!
“There’s more,” He whispers. “I will never leave them. I will never leave them. I do not take their trust lightly. I am working even now for them. Soon they will see, and I love that they’re learning to trust more in me. It delights me!”
And I just wanted to leave you with this excerpt from Psalm 37, one of my favorite Psalms.
Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Delight yourself in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him…
This time, this now, is set apart for you for this moment. What is the Lord teaching you? I know for me, it is to be still, and wait upon Him, trust in a good, beautiful future, and know that He is God.
